Catrike Design and Engineering
This is at the core and the root of our business. We believe that by delivering superior design & engineering we will win many hearts. "Passion Meets Engineering"
Shown a FEA (Finite Element Analysis) of the Catrike Boom Clamp. During this analysis, constraints and forces are added at strategic locations and intensity in order to replicate the real life use of such part in order to identify any weaker spots, as well as any excessive material and opportunities for reducing weight and optimizing design without compromising function and reliability. Fatigue analysis is also performed during the computer simulation.
A new Catrike starts with a conceptual sketch with specific criteria and a first order analysis of its structure. After we are satisfied with the concept we create a rendering such as this that gives us an all around view of the trike. Our drawings fit into our parametric model where we have control of desired stability and comfort level as a function of the rider's center of gravity and its relation to the wheel base and wheel track. After that phase a prototype will be made.
This an automated machine that has been 100% developed in house by Catrike. An initial conceptual sketch of such equipment is done by hand showing mechanical, pneumatic and electronic componentry. Later the sketch is transferred to a 3D drawing using Solidworks, using actual parts and components files in order to detect and constraints, limitations or collisions. An actual simulation with movement is performed. This is a smart way to keep production in house.
